1980-1989
Suraj Ghai‘s works of this period are an eclectic mix of portraits, landscapes and satirical drawings. Life-study, portraits of his family members and friends, and art as commentary on social conditions such as Complacent Mask, and Woman as Cow take Ghai’s concerns from the personal and individual to man as a social and political being. Drawings of this period are remarkable for their lyrical lines and trenchant wit.
