During these years, Suraj Ghai won a French Government Scholarship for Higher Education to study Fresco Painting.
1964–1969, Varanasi
Suraj Ghai was called by the Benares Hindu University to establish their Department of Fresco Painting in 1964.
1970–1979
This was one of the most inspired periods of Ghai’s life as an artist, his ‘Images in Transformation’ series comes into focus.
1980–1989
Suraj Ghai‘s works of this period are an eclectic mix of portraits, landscapes and satirical drawings.
1990–1999
In this period, Suraj Ghai’s constant engagement with Christ as a metonymic figure takes the centre stage.
2000 Onwards
